On Sunday, June 14, 2026, the Karuizawa Tanka Workshop held its 37th session.
We'll gather around the table at Ristorante Pietrino for a session titled "Dripping Tanka Poems."

While considering the word "dripping" itself and its associations,
Occasionally, peaceful moments filled with laughter begin to unfold.

Before we knew it, it started raining, and the workshop continued with the sound of dripping rain.

The fifth period of my fifteenth year was filled with words that were more powerful than life itself, Mr. T.

A rainbow appeared during a cheerful dog walk, so I guess that makes it all worthwhile, Mr. H.

Y-sama, receiving the first raindrop on your face, releases spores and sends them away in the water.

The first cuckoo call resonates, my heart leaps with joy, and red azaleas drop their dewdrops. - Ms. S

These tanka poems, based on each person's experiences, evoke a sense of time and connection to the present.

Creating a song in a workshop might seem like it goes by in a flash,
Something will begin from here, and I hope that you will all feel, "I want to write another poem, I want to encounter another poem."
I feel like it's connected to those kinds of feelings.
