We will be welcoming Ryosaku Miyasaka, one of the artists featured in this exhibition, to talk about his work and his time as a student at California Institute of the Arts, incorporating the art scene of the time.

◇Artist introduction:
Artist from Suwa City, Nagano Prefecture (1950-)
The artist, who studied under Allan Kaprow at the prestigious California Institute of the Arts, has been creating many installations as well as two-dimensional works, with the "earth" as his consistent theme.

On November 11rd (Friday, national holiday) and 3th (Saturday), Karuizawa was warmer than usual and the autumn leaves were still in full bloom, so the area was bustling with tourists. During this time, Miyasaka held a gallery talk at the museum.
For a long 3 hours, Miyasaka spoke enthusiastically about the day he was deeply moved by a book by Allan Kaprow that inspired him to study abroad, how he started working on the A-Fire Festival three months after enrolling at California Institute of the Arts, the events that led him to return to Japan, and the origins of art.
