Karuizawa is a popular tourist destination during the New Year holidays, and this year the museum was bustling with even more people (about 3 people in total) than last year. Thanks to everyone's support, we were able to make all 150 colorful fans, and we were blessed with many participants.

The participants were diverse, from local areas such as Karuizawa, Miyota, and Ueda to Takasaki, Kumagaya, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Fukushima, Yamagata, Aichi, and Okayama, as well as from various countries such as China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia. The age range was wide, from 4 years old to people in their 70s, and everyone seemed to enjoy the relaxing New Year's time in their own way.

Since opening the book cafe last summer, visitors have been spending more time here. We often see families and couples participating in a workshop, then going to the exhibitions, or relaxing with a book of their choice, letting time flow freely. We thought it would be wonderful to provide a space where many visitors could start the new year in a creative way, and we also hope to promote communication through art, so we hold a free New Year's workshop every year. The museum will be closed for the winter until mid-March, but we will continue to update our workshop ideas and plans, so please check our website and Facebook regularly.
