KaNAM's annual New Year's workshop, "Drawing the New Year!" The canvas is a plain folding fan. Why not create an original folding fan by drawing your aspirations for the year, the zodiac sign, or your thoughts for the New Year with your favorite pattern? You can take home the work you made at the workshop as a souvenir. We are also holding a calligraphy competition. Please come and join us!

REPORT

Art for children and adults alike
January 2018-1, 2, was a very cold start to the new year, although the sun was out all three days. Thanks to everyone's support, our annual New Year's event "Art Begins - Make Your Own Fan" ended successfully. Many people participated in the workshop, from our hometown of Karuizawa to Tokyo, Chiba, Aichi, Osaka, Niigata, and all over Japan, as well as from overseas. There were many people who came to Karuizawa for the first time, and there were about 4 participants, including tourists who just happened to visit the museum, and their companions. Adults with children who hadn't picked up a paintbrush in decades also seemed to enjoy the experience, as it was a good stimulus for them. We would like to continue to hold open experiential workshops without creating any barriers between children and adults, so we hope to have your continued support this year!
This is my first experience with calligraphy!
