We will invite modeling artist Keiko Miyata as our instructor and have you make stuffed animals. Using colorful felt and fur, you can create your own "mysterious animal" that blends reality and the world of imagination. All you need is scissors and glue, so you don't need to know how to use a needle and thread to participate.

To apply, please make a reservation by phone. Space is limited to the first 20 people for each morning and afternoon session.
REPORT
On Monday, September 9th (National Holiday), we held the "Let's Make Mysterious Creatures" workshop. Both the morning and afternoon sessions were very busy.
The morning session was attended by 100% Karuizawa residents, including 21 elementary school students and their families, and the afternoon session was attended by 2 people, including elementary school students from nearby areas, fans of Miyata Keiko from Tokyo, and two families who happened to be in Karuizawa from Saitama and Tokyo on a sightseeing trip. The workshop started with a gallery talk by Miyata Keiko, where participants looked at her works and expanded on the image of the doll they would like to make, and chose their favorite husks. Then they turned the husks inside out and stuffed them with cotton and pellets. When they had the desired fluffy and lumpy texture, Miyata Sensei sewed them together. After that, they glued on colorful fur, lace, buttons, and wool pompoms to create their own shape. At the end, they gave their dolls names and took commemorative photos. The workshop ended with all the participants creating wonderful mysterious creatures. Thank you to Miyata Sensei for the wonderful time! We would also like to thank all the regulars who participated, and also the tourists who were drawn to the flyers and works and decided to join us.
