After graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts, Kazuharu Hanada (1946-2017) travelled around Europe.
Upon his arrival in Japan, he did not return to Tokyo, but spent the rest of his life in his native Hokkaido.
The honest approach to nature and dynamic expression in Hanada’s paintings could only have been possible in Hokkaido, where his deep love for his homeland and family is obvious in his paintings.
