After graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts, Kazuharu Hanada (1945-2017) traveled around Europe.
After returning to Japan, he did not return to Tokyo, but spent the rest of his life in his hometown of Hokkaido.
The honest approach to nature and dynamic style of expression seen in Hanada's paintings could not have been achieved without his living in Hokkaido, and they demonstrate his deep love for his hometown and his family.
