Message from the artist
Shapes born from the fluctuations of water and wind
There is silence in the water. Since I was a child, it has been a place where I could free my mind. I move my limbs like a fish and forget that I am human. There is a world where words are unnecessary.
Water ripples. When I swim, waves are created, and I myself am rippled. Just as the wind blowing from outside gently caresses the surface of the water, ripples spread in our hearts when people meet. The ripples are sometimes gentle, sometimes violent, and flow while changing shape.
"Fu" means wind.
"Fu" means shaking.
"Fu" refers to the movement of the heart.
Water has no form, but its shape is revealed by the wind. Emotions, too, emerge and change through interactions with others.
The vibrations that come from within oneself and the vibrations that are caused by the winds of others.
Swaying, wet, there is a "Fu (wind)". Comfortable silence, the flow of spring love.
The word "fu" contains the meanings of things that flow, change, and connect. In this solo exhibition, through the relationship between water and wind, I depict the transience of intangible things that are born, change, and disappear. I hope that the faint fluctuations that resonate in the silence will also make small waves in your heart.

Artist Information
AIO (Ai Otsuka)
Born on November 1982, 9, in Osaka Prefecture. In 2003, Ai Otsuka debuted as a singer-songwriter.
debut.
He has been active in the music industry for 20 years, producing a wide variety of songs as if he were playing multiple roles by himself.
In parallel with music, he creates and presents picture books and illustrations, and in order to grasp art in a more three-dimensional way, he began taking up oil painting in earnest in 2020.
In 2024, he will release his first all-piano instrumental mini-album, "graine", digitally from July 7th to July 18th of the same year.
Held his first solo exhibition, "AI OTSUKA 20th ANNIVERSARY ART EXHIBITION AIO ART," at Spiral Garden in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo.
In this solo exhibition, she attempted new forms of expression in music and visual art, including oil paintings, calligraphy, and flower arrangements, all themed around her music, with a focus on "Love," which is also her own name.
The driving force behind his work comes from overflowing images, and at its root is the existence of "water."
Focusing on the water flowing within the body and the water that exists outside of the body, fragments of images that well up from deep within the heart are sublimated into the melody of constantly circulating water.
He continues to produce works that sometimes replicate the body or surroundings, resulting in a single harmonious flow.
