About the Exhibition
About The "Universe" of Leiji Matsumoto Leiji Matsumoto, known as one of the most influential Sci-Fi comic artists not only in Japan, but internationally as well. Matsumoto's illustrations express a peerless future of man in space. "Universe" - is the common dream of all mankind expressed as a romantic adventure. In the context of his works, Matsumoto's imaginary world is not simply a flight of fantasy, but is also pregnant with messages for us living in reality. Such messages are conveyed in the stories of the works, the characters, and their conversations. The exhibition brings together over 100 works, which range from actual manuscripts, to sculptures and models, including rare autographed manuscripts, to the original colored paintings of Matsumoto's cartoon characters, which allow us to observe outstanding techniques of a man who devoted his life for 60 years of continuous effort and passion int the comic world.
