Exhibition room
This exhibit features a wide variety of art works, posters, and other items based on phenomena on Earth.
We hope you enjoy these works that allow you to experience the beauty of the Earth itself while also learning about global environmental issues.

Exhibition room
This exhibit features landscape paintings themed on nature, a major motif in art. This room, where Japanese paintings and oil paintings are displayed together, is just like the environment that surrounds us. You can travel through the various locations depicted in the paintings, such as mountains, forests, waterfalls, and beaches, and experience the beauty, awe, and grandeur of nature all at once.

Exhibition room
Here you can experience the world of imaginary landscapes and landscapes.

Exhibition room
The museum exhibits a variety of works that are based on the concept of "Land Art," which is an expression that utilizes natural phenomena and the earth. Many of the Land Art works, which have been moved from indoors to outdoors, are dynamic and give the impression of interaction with nature. Land Art was born against the backdrop of the trend toward commercial art sales and the times, and it cannot be contained indoors, and it will not remain unless it is recorded, which makes it even more interesting to pay attention to this characteristic.

5th Exhibition Room-1
The fifth exhibition room features a variety of interdisciplinary works themed around nature.
First, you are greeted by music with a flower theme as you enter, and as you proceed, you will encounter a variety of books, photographs, products, and other items. This is a room where you can see how we are interested in the phenomena of nature and the universe, and how we apply them not only to artistic expression but also to our daily lives. While showing the current state of things and the possibilities for the future, our thoughts and aesthetics regarding nature jump out at us in various forms.

5th Exhibition Room-2

6th Exhibition Room-1
In the sixth exhibition room, we are exhibiting a video work by daisy* that uses AI generation. The AI-controlled coelacanths in the video are programmed so that they never make the same movement twice. It almost seems as if the real deep sea is spreading out behind the screen, and the work evokes the current rapid development of science and technology, as well as the possibilities for the future. When you watch the coelacanths swimming through the monitor, you get a beautiful and fantastical impression. However, gradually, it leads to a rethinking of the nature of art and our relationship not only with the environment but also with technology.

6th Exhibition Room-2
The artist encourages taking not only still images but also videos in this room, and you can share them with hashtags such as #daisy, #karuizawanewartmuseum, and #ancientaquarium. Please enjoy!

The word order of the exhibition title, "Irreplaceable Things: Earth, Landscape, Environment", is linked to the layout of the exhibition.
We hope that by looking at a number of works inspired by nature, the earth and the environment, through this exhibition and looking at the past and the future, we can provide an opportunity to reconsider and discover the "irreplaceable things" that are all around us.
