REPORT

Tadashi Maeyama, as you would expect from the leader of GUN, was a very passionate person.
On a week-end for two days in September, we interviewed Tadashi Maeyama of the Niigata avant-garde art group GUN, who created the work "An event to change the image of snow" , which is featured in the pamphlet for the exhibition "Irreplaceable : Earth, Landscape, Environment." What was the historical background in which a local art movement arose in the late sixty, and what specific activities did he carry out?
The exhibition was accompanied by valuable documents from that time. It was a great opportunity to reconsider the role of art.
Thank you so much, Maeyama-san!
Maeyama's early works were influenced by pop art and used glass and mirrors.
