⑥Epilogue: Crossing borders and expanding the realm of expression

As the final exhibit of the exhibition, you will be able to see two video works in which several expressions are "connected," "expanded," and elevated into art.
It is a mixture of animation, music, abstract painting, dance, fashion, storytelling, etc. New contemporary works are not complete with a single form or method of expression, but are produced in a situation where a variety of elements are included, connected, and expanded.
Norman McLaren's signature work, "Color Fantasy," is an animated piece, but unlike typical animations, it lacks a storyline; instead, colorful, formless abstract paintings move dynamically. The colors and shapes change in sync with the music of jazz musician Oscar Peterson's trio. McLaren's work is intended to convey to viewers that the work should not be understood through a coherent story or motif, but rather through fundamental sensibility and intuition.
Aina the End's music video "Red:birthmark" was created as the ending theme for the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam: Witch of Mercury." This work was created as a standalone music video separate from the anime, and it combines music, dance, fashion, and video, all resulting in an impressive and outstanding contemporary expression.
What you will see here is artistic expression for a new era, and our modern lives are surrounded by such expressions every day.
