Ronald Ventura: Exhibition Space 6

Room 6 is a roomful of graphite and oil renderings placed on stainless steel charts.
This is the observation or diagnosis room. Viewers can look at the framed pieces as something similar to medical-record holders or clipboards.
A big chunk of humanity feels sickly, but it may not be indicative of sickness after all. Many in the Middle Ages have mistaken transcendence for illness or possession. And many of Ventura’s figures—although coming across as menacing and maniacal—possess a certain grace, grandeur, and the gift of having crossed over.
