The Second General Assembly International Symposium in Karuizawa was held at Karuizawa New Art Museum in August 23rd, 2015.
It was started with a speech of Vice Mayor of Karuizawa, Mr. Hiroshi Yanagisawa.
About 100 people from local and international joined in this conference.
We had three lectures given by Mr. Eric Chang from Christie’s Hong Kong (left), Director of Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art, Mr. Yutaka Mino (center), and Director of Hiroshima Prefectural Museum of Art, Mr. Nobuyuki Senzoku (right). They told about the theme, “Highly Regarded Japanese Contemporary Art in International” from different point of views. It was a good opportunity to reconsider the Japanese Contemporary Art.
We got speeches from Gutai Artists, Syuji Mukai (left) and Tsuyoshi Maekawa (right).
In the second half, we invited Mr. Kunio Motoe from Tama Art University as a coordinator and there was a panel discussion about the theme “The Reason Why Gutai Was Received High Reputation in the International Art Market”. Under the congenial atmosphere, the conference was developed with international point of view, which was led by Mr. Kunio Motoe. The precious opinions were provided from the audience as well and it was interesting and satisfying two hours.
