About the Exhibition

The artworks of Osamu Watanabe, romantically decorated by utilizing the fiber reinforced plastics and the modeling pastes, introduced the unconventional idea to the field of contemporary art. Watanabe is acknowledged as a pioneer who has raised the "decoration" ーJapanese pop culture to embellish the items with lots of cute charmsー to the status of contemporary art. Through "decoration" to various surroundings such as statues and world heritages, Watanabe enables us to break the preconceived, sublime idea and establish a new perspective to see each subject. Charming yet peerless quality in Watanabe's works attract a wide range of fans from all over the world.
KaNAM gallery is pleased to present the solo exhibition of ーSweet Memoriesー with the theme of wedding, one of the best romantic moments, will be explained in sweet motifed wedding dresses, accessories, and some wild animals gathered to celebrate the happy moments together. We hope you enjoy to have a look at the exhibition.
