About the Exhibition

This year marks the museum's 10th anniversary, and we are pleased to present a special exhibition to commemorate the occasion.
The purpose of this exhibition is to encourage visitors to think about "the Life of a Person", "from Birth to Death," and "the Various Things that Happen in Between" through the works of art.
The project was inspired by an encounter with "Shihon chakushoku shuui kotokuden", a picture scroll depicting the latter half of Honen Shonin's life, which is a National Important Cultural Property.
”Life and death" depicted in this work is a fundamental theme that can be understood by all people.
The exhibition will be an all-star affair, so to speak, picking up a variety of works from classic masterpieces to the latest works by contemporary artists, regardless of age, country, genre, or technique.

The exhibition is designed to be viewed as if you were encountering various stories through the six exhibition rooms. Since birth, people have experienced so much joy and sorrow, and have passed away. We hope that visitors will enjoy the artworks and reflect on their various experiences while viewing them.
