About the Exhibition
Karuizawa New Art Museum has been presenting Gutai-jin in form of a solo exhibition for a year. It has been focusing on the avant-garde artists’ group, “Gutai Art Association”, which is considered to be one of the pioneers of the post-war Japanese contemporary art. We exhibit over 120 works produced by the total of 23 Gutai artists as a compilation of the Gutai series. It is including 14 artists who had already presented their works in this museum last year.
